We're talking about 3d Mario, not Mario Kart. Mario kart is so popular it will get an insane attach rate on any console within reason. Also, there wasn't much competition for games for it on Wii u. Although, mk8 rehash has no chance of an attach rate anywhere near the original.

mario kart 8 deluxe is on par to doing similar numbers it always has, only wii is a outlier, as for mario 3d  well there hasn't been many ambitious 3d  mario games since n64, mario galaxy was ambitious but it didn't have the wow factor because the shit hardware that wii was, and as i said before i could have did better but there 2 3d mario games that gen which never happened before.
