To a degree you're right but Xbox One outsold the PS4 because it was cheaper. It's as simple as that. 

Yeah I know, that's my entire point of my post, it did it without 1st Party exclusive games which many in here believe it means everything.

It helps to have 1st party games, however clever marketing is what sells consoles in the end.
