If it passes the Vita in 12 months then this has to officially be the best launch for a console period. 16 million in 12 months? I'm guessing by the end of December it should be somewhere close to 13 million, which means that January and February will have to sell 3 million collectively. Doable indeed. But it would be easier to pull off if there was another Direct soon.
