Oh wow. It also needs your own 3G to go around, and a stronger battery because it drains sooo much of your smartphone |
Where do I begin?
- GPS doesn't need 3G or a data plan: https://www.quora.com/Can-tablets-use-GPS-without-3G-capabilities
- more and more areas in the world get free Wi-Fi
- of course Nintendo could optimize the battery drain of Pokémon Go much better on their own device than on an generic Android/iOS device
- the beauty of a dedicated handheld: its primary function is gaming and you don't have to worry that much about losing connectivity (telephone, eMail, WhatsApp...) when you play too much
