What's more fascinating - selling millions more than a previous year isn't notable, but selling 300K less, in one part of the year, is. 

What's even more fascinating is that breaking the 20 million mark isn't notable. It has been quite a while since a home console pulled that off. Let alone when it was mostly priced above $250-$300 troughout the year.
