Isn't it funny how its conveniently ignored that Nintendo real 8th gen console is actually the WiiU? But yeah, lets all just keep pretending that a console released almost 4 years into an existing generation of consoles is in the same generation of console.

If you ask me the NS should be grouped into gen 8.5. being that its likely its successor won't release until 2022/2023.... which could very well be into the 3rd or 4th year of the actual 9th gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft.

WiiU launched in 2012, PS4/XB1 in 2013= 8th gen

XB360 in 2015, PS3/Wii 2016 = 7th gen

PS4+XB1 2013, NS in 2017.......... please, can anyone tell me how this is still considered an 8th gen console? Then what was the WiiU?

I agree, but then it would need to be grouped with XBOX and PS4 Pro as Gen 8.5 or "8th gen done right". And since we're not getting separated sales numbers of the upgraded consoles from Microsoft and Sony, it's only logical place is at 8th gen, at least right now

Their all selling now.... at the same time... they all belong to the same generation (this time periode).
Switch will spend most of its life, selling against the PS4/XB1.... its in the same gen of consoles as them.
