This year's new year's sales were higher then last. So your comment definitely holds no weight. 

Vita is pretty much dead in the water, especially compared to last year. Yes, even the 3DS is down YOY but not with that massive drop. PS4 is doing a god job though, saleswise.

Vita went onto life support before th and switch even released. The 3ds however is getting cannibalised by the switch.
