Have you payed attention to Nintendos release strategy last year? Nintendo kept announcing things on very short notice and just releasing them. In some cases it was less than three months from announcement to release.

Before E3 they had only one 1rst party game that is going to release over a year out from annoucement (Fire Emblem).

If you're talking third party, there was a similar pattern with short notice announcements for Doom and L.A. Noire and the stream on indies is unbroken and keeps flowing onto the system.

At this point it's unlikely that we are looking at a finished 6-month line-up, imo. This seemed to be more of a Spring direct.

They focused on the first half of the year for first party content so late 2018 games / release dates will probably be revealed at e3. We know Fire Emblem and Yoshi are coming this year, with Pokémon and Metroid hopefully 2018 releases as well. Looks like they are trying to put out one retail game per month (which was pretty expected) but I'm a bit bummed by the number of remakes - Bayonetta, Donkey Kong, Hyrule Warriors and Dark Souls.

I'll buy Hyrule Warriors because I've skipped that on Wii U and 3DS and maybe Mario Tennis.

Mario Tennis said Spring though, wouldn't that put it in the march-may quarter?

No I haven't been following them closely but now that you told me I'm aware.
