The end of us could just be another step of evolution. Machines and AI could explore the universe much more efficiently than us humans. Robots have already conquered the solar system, they have been to Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Pluto and whatnot while us humans only made it to the moon. Maybe we don't even need to preserve humanity. I mean don't just always think about yourself but also others, isn't that what religion teaches us? I say we should be nice to any form of super AI that might evolve in the next 100 years or so. If we are lucky, it will keep us as pets, the same way we keep our dogs and cats. But I don't think it's neccessarily a bad thing to just accept that humanity itself will one day be heavily outclassed by machines and AI. |
