Thats why I mentioned GPUs. Many Steam users arent on powerful gaming PCs comprable to X1.

And that is why I just provided plenty of examples of why the GPU argument is redundant.
We could go around in circles all day.

I mean, do you discredit the Switch, which is set to beat the Xbox One this generation because of it's inferior hardware? No? Exactly.

You keep pointing out console sales are lost are lost from X1 sharing games with PC and frankly it makes sense. But are the console sales lost significant? Probably not because X1 sales have not declined. To the contrary, this seems to be a good sales year for X1 in spite of PC having all the latest Xbox content since 2016.

Well. The Original Xbox shared a majority of it's library with the PC and it paled in comparison to the Playstation 2 sales rate.
The Xbox 360 had a larger portion of exclusive games that weren't on PC and did extremely well for itself. - If Halo 3 and Fable 2 were on PC, I would never have bought an Xbox 360 as early as I did.

The Xbox One looks set to possibly come up short when compared to the Xbox 360, it's not a failure by any stretch... But it's simply not a console that appeals to PC gamers like the 360 did.

And don't get me wrong, I love the fact that so many more games are coming to my primary platform, but that just means I want more for my Xbox One X.

There is a reason people buy various GTA games, even older ones. They vary in content even if the core gameplay is similar. Its not just a yearly sports update. So I would actually recommend FH2 to people that enjoyed FH3.

Yeah. Nah. GTA 5 has pretty much obliterated the sales of all prior releases in the franchise, but of course there are those who buy older games, I do.

I'm not a fan of the racing genre anyway, so if I was going to pick up Forza as a spur-of-the-moment purchase, then it would be the latest release anyway.

I agree MCC was a disaster at launch but it works pretty well now. Best place to play the campaigns and MP is active. Maybe thats why updates are coming? Because its still active. The ODST campaign is just $5 and a nice gift for people that dealt with bugs early on.

It doesn't work for allot of people. Otherwise Microsoft/343i wouldn't have made a statement about patching and fixing the game just recently. - I did provide a link for that.

Indeed, the free ODST campaign was a great freebie, it's also ironic that they provided us with free single-player content though. Haha

Mr Puggsly said:

Yeah, Halo 5 is better than average and not a game that should be judged just by launch.

Halo 5 is average. - Allot of the criticisms I have of the game at launch are still relevant today. (Minus SOME of the missing features/content.)
But an average Halo game is still a good game, but I do have a bias there as I am well invested in the franchise... I do own every single release of Halo on every platform. - In-fact. I even own TWO copies of Halo 5.

Mr Puggsly said:

I was using BC as a notable feature among other content on the platform. Thats added value but not the sole reason I recommend X1.

If anything it's a value-added incentive over competing console platforms and not the PC who tends to remain backwards compatible either way.
It's free though... And some games are being "enhanced". (But still fall short of some PC releases a decade+ ago.)

Again, we cant really determine how many sales are lost by sharing games on PC. Some of the best selling console games are on PC. While a game like PUBG is thriving on Xbox due to PC hype. You have assumptions and no figures.

PUBG is riding on the PC hype-train... Even then it's sold orders of magnitude more on PC anyway.
It's probably the game Microsoft needed to keep gamers talking about Xbox while there are no exclusives.

Mr Puggsly said:

Generally speaking, 1st parties are outputting less content and taking less risks. Studios have shut down and its not exclusive to MS. Its probably because theyve settled with who their audiences are and cater to that. Especially when the unique titles often fail while the usual IPs/genres thrive.

X1X is not platform designed to push exclusives per se. Given it shares content with standard X1.

Which is ironic as publishers are posting ever-increasing-profits.
Still, it's hard to argue that Microsoft just hasn't been investing in first party content at the same rate as Sony or Nintendo... The games themselves don't even need to be massive, expensive AAA undertakings, games like Cuphead which was full of charm and character is enough to draw the attention to the Xbox platform.

Besides. Sony makes a loss on a few franchises, but they offset those losses from franchises that rake in the money... Because even if a game only sells a few million units, it's adding value to the platform as a whole, it's bringing attention from gaming outlets.. And those who do buy those games are likely to buy others.

I do have a ton of hope for 2018 for the Xbox platform... And hopefully my Xbox One X isn't stuck at a last century 1080P resolution all year... Because I am over that as well.

I still don’t get why yo want some reason to play Xbox One X to be honest. Why did you buy it in the first place?

Ironically. For exclusives. Aka. Halo.
Not that I actually have to justify my purchasing decisions to anyone, my money... And I can do whatever the hell I like with it.

Master Chief Collection and Halo 5 alone are a good reason to buy Xbox One. As Puggsly said MCC was a disaster but it works pretty well now indeed and there's plenty of people playing. I've been playing it alot recently and I'm usually able to find a game quickly. I'd also rate Halo 5 as one of the best 1st person shooters, but this is offtopic so I'll continue on that other Halo thread.

Master Chief Collection still has a plethora of bugs.
There is a black screen bug that I ran into a ton of times during my play of Halo 2.

Mr Puggsly said:
then he complains he isnt using his X1X enough. Thats not a reasonable argument. He knew what X1X would offer and maybe acts like he didnt know for attention.

Because it's a valid complaint? And I knew full-well what the exclusive situation was like for the Xbox One X prior to my purchase... I did own a base Xbox One with Kinect since it's launch you know... And I complained about the scarcity of exclusives then too.

So yes it is a reasonable argument. And No. - Your complaining about my arguments isn't going to change my position.

Okay, I underlined your comments that are straw man arguments.

I mentioned GPU because I'm stressing not everybody that is a PC gamer has a gaming rig capable of playing technically demand X1 content. Steam stats does actually reflect that.

Sony was a beast during the 6th gen and Gamecube and Xbox couldn't compete. The 360 had an edge in the 7th gen because Sony made mistakes and Wii was interesting. 360 shared a lot of games with PC and did great. Even with X1 now, we aren't seeing any impact of sharing games with PC. So your argument just doesn't have validity, primarily because there are other factors that impact console sales more than sharing games with PC.

I agree GTAV obliterated all other game in the series, but that's not the point. People still buy the older GTA games because they're still very different experiences in regard to story and city, but have similar core gameplay.

I would recommend Forza Horizon 3 over 2, but FH2 is still a notable game and not on PC.

For the most part, MCC's online works fine now and that's why its an active online game. Due to that activity patches to further improve MCC are coming. Frankly, kudos to MS for even putting resources into it as most games don't get this treatment years later.

All the online content in MCC is free so what else could they give free other than offline content? But hey, its something.

Again, Halo 5 is an above average game. Maybe you don't hold in high regard compared to the rest of the series, but still above average.

I'm not sure why you mention PC when I talk about X1 BC. Some of the notable content on X1 BC isn't even on PC.

Your PUBG response, just irrelevant and total straw man. I will just move on...

We don't really know how much money MS has invested in games and also bear in mind a few were cancelled. In pure quanity, I don't think Sony is releasing much more content than MS. Maybe you're confusing 3rd party exclusives with Sony content.

Nobody is asking you to justify your X1X purchase. We just don't believe you're being genuine. You bought an X1X knowing what it had coming, you complain anyway and act surprised you don't use it much. We just don't buy your BS, you bought an X1X to complain and for attention. This is what I believe atleast because nothing else makes sense.

I played through MCC post patches and didn't have any black screen crashes, I don't even recall crashes. I do recall crashes pre patches though, especially in Halo 4. Hence, I judge MCC by where its at now which is much better than launch.

Again, you're well aware as a PC owner there aren't many reasons for you to own a X1X. You argue you don't need your X1X because you own a PC. You even ignore your X1X because you rather play that content on PC. YOUR VERY OWN ARGUMENTS SAY YOU SHOULDN'T OWN A X1X, but then you get angry when people question why do you own a X1X. Its amazing you don't realize how ridiculous you sound.
