*Sigh* people really need to grow up and stop writing on behalf of the so-called haters...

More power to you if you adored your Wii, but the reasons it's largely hated are actually rather simple, clear, and straightforward. They have been restated time and time again for nearly a decade so it's beyond me why some fans turn those honest and perfectly reasonable opinions into some unjustified bitterness or petty hatred every time..

The Wii had some terrible specs (Think of it this way.. Zelda BotW would have been technically possible long ago had the Wii launched with similar specs to PS360) Nintendo redirected a good portion of their resources and thoughts towards making gimmicky and silly games meant to appeal to a demographic that had little to do with the conventional gaming we love. It also had an awful online system, poor multiplats, and weak third party support to boot considering the level of its success.

Again, if you fans are fine with all of that, then good on you! But why must everyone agree with your opinions? It goes without saying the Wii had some timeless gems, but it clearly didn't have enough A tier games from an objective standpoint.

I had not seen this post but it is interesting. DS was a bigger offender in every sense of the word except the motion controls and Switch is basically walking the same path as Wii. However, both of those consoles are met with much better reception. I mean on Switch, the online is awful, the multiplats are the worst versions, the major third party support is even weaker than Wii U at the same point, there are lots of gimmicks with Switch, and just like with Wii and Wii U and it even uses motion controls.

I am not going to argue with the opinions you listed in any way, shape or form because I believe those may be the reasons (although I would fact check them and prove the games one incorrect) people do feel. But why is Switch, which has all the same issues and some new ones (like mandatory downloads on physical releases and higher priced games even though the games are technically the worst versions... DOOM at 60 even though I just got it again on PC for 20 or LA Noir being 10 dollars more despite having frame rate problems and being graphically the weakest version). Why are people so hard on Wii while this time they can overlook those exact same listed problems with DS and Switch? I get confused every time with this very part. If that is their reality and their reason, why is it that Switch is seeing so much positive reception when it has all those flaws and more. If you can help me out with this one (and I do not mean throw a random answer out there, I mean really give me some clarity), then maybe I could really understand the backlash against Wii more clearly.

By the way, I am not saying Switch or Wii are bad or good consoles, just stating the facts and my confusion on how those facts are consumed.
