That's not what peer review.  I'm rather baffled you are even making the comparison.   Peer review is simply the submission of your work to other scientists for validation by replication. 

i didn't say its the exact same thing but the point is that there is a selective structure within the scientific community like there is in the church... that is vulnerable to subjectivity and flaws
