It was never a fact.  It was a notion pushed forth by Sony fans that were perplexed that Capcom moved the franchise from Playstation to Nintendo.  They conceived that they only reason Capcom would do this was that Nintendo paid for an exclusivity deal.

They've brought the "deal" again in that the existence of MHW on PS4 as proof that the exclusivity deal has expired.  They ignore the fact that MH franchise never left Playstation as multiple games were released on Sony and MS consoles plus PC.  Monster Hunter Portable 3rd even released after MH Tri for Wii.

There is still the possibility but i agree with you. We would of probably heard of it by now (if true) but if some people believe that it's on them and fine but stating it like its 100% fact when its most likely just made up
