I couldn't have said it better. The thing that really gets me is just how well they have captured each car. I have a C3 Corvette, I have driven a few F-150's, and Subaru WRX's, and it is incredible how accurate each vehicle is represented. The feeling of the weight, the way the car shifts when you corner and brake, it is all so well represented that you can almost instantly forget you are in VR. Like you said, the the settings (although rough in raw graphics) are so well crafted that you really feel like you are there. As I said, driving the Cobra around on the Big Willow in the afternoon with fine weather, actually takes you to southern California. You feel like it is a beautiful sunny summer day, and even when it is 03:00 with snow on the ground, it brings you all the happiness of summer. I hope they expand the VR portion greatly over time. More day time tracks with fine weather, I'd like some rain as well. Then let me run laps for hours in time trials. After playing GTS and Ultrawings, I just want a GTA now. A giant open world to drive, bike, fly, and even run around. We are closing in on the point where you will be able to throw on a VR device, and enjoy a couple of hours of perfection regaurdless of what else is happening around you, and that has always been my dream. |
So much this. I sign every word of this :)
