The Vita? What killed that was Nintendo & Sony. Lack of strong enough content from the latter while being a punching bag for the former. That is not an example of mobile gaming killing handhelds. 

I can't speak for what the 3DS will "end up selling" - it's still doing just fine and there's no sign of it dying off any time soon. Of course, this also ignores the Switch (currently, a highly sought after home console/handheld hybrid trading blows with the fastest selling console in history).

i've showed you enough examples. it's the by far the worst selling generation for handheld gaming. we'll agree to disagree, this is getting boring.
