I think I know what I was implying. I'd make a joke about telepathy, but even if you had it, you'd still get it wrong because that's NOT what I was implying. 

There is a difference between generalizing a thought (which is what I was doing. Notice how I used the word "you" and not "he"?) and speaking directly about one person and their life.
