Yeah but this is a different situation, because Episode IX is still a direct continuation of The Last Jedi's story and it has the same producers and the same characters and stuff. It will have a different director, and might look promising when it comes, but it is deeply connected to TFA and TLJ in a way TFA never was to the prequels. Also it comes out in only 2 years (or is it 1 and a half year?). |
Revenge of the Sith was connected to the prequels though and managed to come closer to Phantom Menace's numbers than Attack of the Clone's numbers despite coming off of 2 controversial movies.
