I loved every Paper Mario before that, and I'll defend Super Super Mario until I day, so playing it and slowly coming to terms with how awful it is was a painful experience. The creative decisions on display are so bad I'm baffled as to how they ended up in a professional, polished game. I despise Color Splash for similar reasons but from the moment it was revealed I knew it would be garbage. Mario Party became bad after 7 but I never cared much for Mario Party. |
Super Paper Mario is actually an impressive and innovative game I had some fun playing it but I never understood why they just moved away from the RPG this series was known for. That's what made it unique nowadays the series is all about being Paper instead of its RPG gameplay and story.
