Depends on if Disney puts out another great trailer to get people hyped. I think their will be many who want to see if they fix the screw ups of this film to give a satisfying conclusion. But, it won't be all of them. I wouldn't be surprised if Ep 9 opens with less than $200M.

As far as TLJ goes, the effects are clearly visible. If it performs like TFA did from here on out, it will be down by ~$750M. If it continues to perform 9% above RO (excluding opening weekend), it will be  down ~$810M.  Either is too big of a difference to just explain away.  At least for anyone with some sense. There's a reason Rian Johnson is reacting the way he is. Pleading with people to watch it. Saying just a few weeks after release Rey's parents can be retconned.

I won't go opening week unless it appears it was all a dream. Then I'll consider it. :)

Plenty will go, of course. But I've never walked out of a movie more disappointed. No trailer is going to fix that.

LOL, yeah. I'm in the same boat. Though, I wouldn't go unless it was a redo, where they used like the 20% of the ideas/footage from TLJ that actually worked. Call it The Final Jedi. Then, don't let Rian Johnson anywhere near the franchise, again. Well, at least as a writer.
