Of course they can and they have been wrong about some great films in the past, they are only humans, however I would argue they are usually way more right than wrong and I don't think they failed in the judgement of this movie at all. Critics do not hate comedies, sci-fi and horror movies that's nothing more than a myth, every year there are movies of those genres very well received by them and yes I'm aware critics and general public do have their differeces, but that's obvious, the general public is for the most part like most people in this thread, clueless about cinema and with a very uneducated taste, while critics are usually very into cinema, they have spent their lifes watching all kinds of movies from all ages and many times they have studied cinema or even work on it, so of course there is gonna be a differece of opinion between those 2 kind of profile.
