Yeah, I'm glad I started a big Excel file about it many years ago.
With filters, sorting and pivot tables I can evaluate all sort of data I want within minutes.
For example: number of games per platform and release year:
- or per genre
- or per buying year instead of release year
- or per platform "family" (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft...)
- or separated between physical + digital + subs (digital with an expiry date)
- or ...
This is the same list as above, just filtered to retail games with one mouse click. Platforms without physical games (iOS, Android...) are automatically filtered away (and years without retail games would disappear as well)...m I love pivot tables!
