It's formfactor fluid.

For some reason should the decision of 48% overthrow that of 52% because?

No what doesn't make sense is to count the 100M sales of a console that wasn't selling to regular console buyers as a reason to say this gen shrank and console is dying because those 100M won't buy again.

"Regular console buyers"

You act like gamers is a single demographic.

I act like people that didn't buy a console before Wii (or people that stopped buying decades before Wii) and won't buy after it shouldn't be counted to try and say this gen is smaller than last in a console doom fashion. PS2+Xog->X360+PS3->X1+PS4 is more on the flat or small growth than consoles are dying because Nintendo wasn't able to keep the new demographic they were targeting in Wii.

You can't say Nintendo do blue ocean and then try to lump its demographic on the others.
