It's not exactly the source that's the problem, but rather that the person just links a source without any further elaboration. It comes off as more "I don't think Rey isn't a Mary Sue and here's a source that aligns with my opinion" rather than "Here's a source that explains how Rey isn't a Mary Sue and here's why I think its explanation is apt".
