I know that's how it works. That's how I've been leveling. However I think I saw the Inn in Gormott once but I cannot find it anymore, so I just visit Alrest for that.

While I really liked all the tutorials, there is still some stuff missing that hasn't been explained properly. For example what the hell is up with this Thought Cloud and what are the benefits of buying out shops. And why the fuck I can only claim bonus XP in Inns. Is there a benefit of not leveling up? I wish there was an ingame tutorial to review all that stuff.

Some of that is further explained as you go.  But deeds grant permanent buffs, if you want to know now.  Also, bonus XP is almost like...an in game dificulty adjuster.  The game can be beaten without using it much or even at all.  But if you want an easier time you can use it to level up quicker.  Also, it's a mechanic that helps offset over-leveling isssues encountered by those who really enjoy indulging in side content as they go.  Basically, by setting it up this way, those who want to play all the side content as they go don't wind up so over leveled it's boring since they can choose when and how much they grow from doing the side stuff.

Also, the inn is not fwr from the Fountain in Torigoth.   Look for the bed icon.

Are there any gameplay issues from over leveling, because I definitely intent to do just that? Aside from making everything easier. The only thing I can think of is is harder to come by Trust points because the fights are shorter. But that shouldn't be an issue with the numerous differently leveled enemies in an area.

I read up on Idea points and no one seems to really know what's going on with that. Only thing we know it has something to do with the odds of getting specific Blades.

This game has too much stuff and too many mechanics.
