I don't know if that should really be considered a win for Rey. That scene showed that Kylo Ren and Rey were equally powerful when they inadvertently broke the lightsaber into 2 pieces.

It is when you consider one has actually put time into training, and the other just started using the force like a week ago with no real instruction. Rey in some ways reminds me of Son Goku from old Dragon Ball, able to mimic techniques that take talented folks years to master after seeing it only once. Only in DB it's comedic, a play on 'monkey see, monkey do,' and eventually explained by how ridiculously OP Goku's species is. I doubt we'll get any explanation for Rey's insanely high midiclorian count in the future. =p
