These are TOTALLY different scenarios. Yoda and Obi Wan all but HAD to go into hiding because the clone troopers were on an all out mission of wiping out the entire Jedi order.. (which now that I think about it is ironically kind of what Johnson has done in TLJ heh)

Luke runs off into hiding (even though he apparently gave our heroes a map to find him in TFA awakens for some reason..? But whatever that's a different story) and acts like a depressed emo and grumpy old man because.. reasons I guess. Oh I suppose it's because his wimpy emo nephew turned to the dark side? Oh god forbid! Even though they had soundly defeated the Empire beforehand and the Jedi order was no longer in danger.

And I actually kind of like the idea of Luke being bitter and jaded after all these years, but the problem is this movie hardly goes into the WHY. WHAT transpired in these 30 years to make Luke do almost a complete 180 from his strong and upbeat character from the OT? Though I guess I shouldn't be too surprised as the movie don't get into just about any world building or character development in detail..
