Yeah 1 console that replaced 2. If ps4 was also portable and a successor to the vita as well we would obviously be comparing it to vita + ps3. The only reason you guys don't accept this comparison is because it doesn't favor the switch.

We dont accept it because it doesnt make sense. Why would the trade off be from 1 consumer who had a wiiu and a 3ds now to own 2 switches when the point is to have 1 as its a hyrbid? Your not looking at this obvious fact. Your ignoring it because it favors your agenda.

Only thing i would agree on with you is the combined software (for franchises that have both HH and HC counterparts too). As a hybrid overall it should sell at the levels of both HH and HC together.

Hardware wise another thing you keep on ignoring is the fact that switch probably this year alone made more of a profit than 3ds/wiiu did in its combined lifetime. Its not all about HW numbers. If switch ends up selling lets say 60mil with a ton of SW sold with it, its miles better than wiiu/3ds selling a combine total of 85mil-90mil.

3DS was selling at a lost, wiiu was a finicial disaster. So you putting words in nintendos mouth saying they have to (as in you know thats what they are doing) sell more than wiiu/3ds combine just to be successful and replace them is BS

When you compare how a console does gen over gen in terms of pure sales you compare it to the console it replaced. This everyone can agree on otherwise you'd be saying ps3 vs ps4 and xb1 vs 360 makes no sense.

Hence why switch can be compared to the Wii u + 3ds as its replaced them both. You can argue there are cons such as single consumers who bought both or you can argue there are pros such as a shared software library but at the end of the day its replacing both of them so can be compared to both.

Pretending it can't is burying your head in the sand. Not everything has to be pro Nintendo. The facts speak for themselves.
