I was mostly talking about Hard Science Fiction vs. Soft Science Fiction.
In Xenoblade Chronicles the science fiction is used as a medium/setting for the ideas/philosophy to be expressed. In Xenoblade Chronicles X you have more science fiction for the sake of interesting (and realistic) scientific concepts. Although, of course it is still predominately with the focus of playing with ideas/philosophy, just relatively harder than Xenoblade Chronicles.
Also I didn't post anything specific regarding Xenoblade Chronicles 2, just my opinions on the story, gameplay, etc (without saying anything about the content itself.)
