Well i can honestly say the amiga/early PC games had the best boxes and contents, shame it was ruined by steam/digital codes :( It was exciting looking through a shop of games with these massive boxes, not like today, its difficult to get much excitement looking at a shelf, especially in most game shops they have more second hand than they do new (also the boxes are boring). Well. Old time the box was supposed to sell you game and since the game graphic was "bad" the box was a lot more impressive... today there is not much cover design, it's more like a screanshot from the game doctored.
