If you could interstellar travel, would you stop to have a conversation with a life form you consider to be like ants?

I don't think this analogy applies. We are a primitive species, that is absolutely clear but we are SENTIENT so a much advanced form of life who travels the universe and finds all sorts of savage life, would logically communicate with a sentient species that is capable of spoken and written language.

I wouldn't speak to an ant because there is no language at all that can be processed by the brain of an ant, it would be like trying to talk to an stone... But if one day dolphins became sentient and smart enough to develop a language I'm pretty sure human scientists would love to at least try to communicate with such dolphins.

It is natural for a sentient species to establish communication with others, it may not go well but being compelled to try is part of what we are as sentient beings.
