Lot of fans are judging this movie harshly based on the fact their own wishfulfillment of what they would’ve like to have seen happen didn’t happen. All those hours spent theorizing and speculating amounted to nothing which is kind of amusing but, to me at least, kind of cool because it was less predictable. Aside from the Finn/Rose casino planet storyline (which I admit didn’t do it for me) the movie was great but perhaps not perfect. Luke’s role in the film was kind of expected in my opinion (sort of like Obi-wan in the original movie). Thematically it was in keeping with every other Star Wars movie made up to this point.
