TLJ was an odd experience for me. I ended up seeing it twice and had varying experiences. After the first viewing I had very mixed feelings about what I just saw. In between my first and second viewing I was able to piece together the movie a bit better and understand what was really going on. The second viewing was far more enjoyable as I missed some smaller details during my first viewing that helped things piece together the story better. I don't think it's necessary the best Star Wars movie, but it's far better than TFA and much better than a lot of people are giving it credit for. There's some truly great moments in this one and it sets the pieces up for the 9th episode.
