You cant know that, some of future Zeldas can easily be more linear like before.

You're right that I can't know, but with how hard they went our of their way to cater to people who didn't like Zelda before (and of course, many people who did like Zelda also ended up liking BotW) I think it's fairly safe to say they've abandoned the old fans who didn't. Especially with how well it's selling.

You're entirely right that I can't know for sure. But I see zero reason to be optimistic about it, unfortunately.

Except it never really was about catering to non-Zelda fans. It was about going away from the 3D Zelda conventions and trying something new while being inspired by the original game. As a long time fan of Zelda, I was personally excited for this game when it was shown off for the first time last year. I don’t think they really abandoned anyone. It’s just not necessarily a game for everyone. Mario Odyssey being what it was didn’t mean they abandoned the Mario fans who liked the more linear approaches like 3D Land or 3D World or even the Galaxy games to some extent. If they make another more linear or one that sticks to the formula then that’s fine, same goes for this new approach in Zelda.
