Sony's problem this year was too many events with content spread out. All shows were meh as a result with PSX being very boring (general census on Twitter). It would do them good to adopt the direct format (with general directs at least twice half year and special direct for specific games).

The amount of events is not a problem in my opinion.

It's great that they are always out there, the more they expose themselves as a brand the better.

Im looking at the direct format as a complement to what we already have, not as a replacement.

A Direct will never have the same impact as a proper conference.

Sony were clear enough when it comes to people's expectations of PSX. They literally said that it was going to be a panel with developers and that the biggest announcements were made at PGW.

And that's exactly the reason why everyone was bored out of their minds at every conference from Sony this year. They don't build hype with directs the way Nintendo does. How come Nintendo's spotlight got more attention than Sony's full E3 show? Or any other show for that matter? It's years of building hype with short bursts packed with juicy info.

Too many damn events. They should cut down to about two a year. Converse info for these events. Use directs to hype them up.
