I think MS is gaining ground among PC gamers and their content has been doing well critically on Steam.

The Windows Store is doing better than Games for Windows Live! But against Steam it hasn't really gone anywhere.
The games that are released on the Windows Store tend not to have a playerbase so Multiplayer is useless.

Eitherway, I still anticipate MS will close the gap on Windows software working on Xbox. In theory using software like virtual machine software could allow MS to curate PC games on Windows and its something they should take advantage of.

I think that was always the goal with Xbox though, to leverage the significantly larger software library and playerbase on PC to help push their console.
The original Xbox was very PC-like and even adopted many PC-exclusives like Elder Scrolls.

Windows Store isnt going head on with Steam. I think thats pretty evident with their games on Steam. We are talking about two markets on the same platform, Windows. MS doesent need to steal users from Steam nor is it worth the efffort. Instead get users using both which is happening.

Windows Store games should always be compatible with Steam games for online play. Thays obvious, it would also make people less reluctant to buy the Windows Store version. On a side note, it would be awesome to see more cross plat purchases. When you buy a Xbox games digitally, you own it Windows Store as well. All 1st party and some 3rd party do this.

Im talking about making the Windows software literally run on Xbox, in a curated way. The potential of support would be significant from that.
