To do so they would have to successfully make Nintendo-based successors to Rare's other classic Nintendo games; Killer Instinct, BattleToads, GoldenEye, Diddy Kong Racing and Banjo-Kazooie (Mario Odyssey notwithstanding). They don't really make the same types of games though.
