It’s been about 68 years. 2000 years ago the Palestinians were still Jewish; specifically Sadduccees. Most of the current day Jews are Ashkenazi and descendants of the Pharisees, the majority of them are immigrants only recently arrived on the Levant and lived in other locations for virtually their entire histories - particularly current day Rabbinical culture which began primarily outside Palestine during the Roman Imperial era and early Middle Ages.
The fighting is not the natural state of things.
Most people want peace. Many people I have spoken with strongly favour a single state. I think this is the best approach; it’s also consistent with my anti-theocratical beliefs (note, I am not anti-religious, I think it is an excellent cultural transmitter, and a testament to human achievement in many regards. I am against theocratical governments and feel that they are counter-productive to human progress).
There is also the massive refugee crisis that has emerged. Something caused by Israel and its allies, but with no proper measures or responsibility taken. Instead, the US, Israel, and the Saudis alternatively antagonize Iran, who has the most extensive refugee burden in the world thanks to the actions of these three countries. It's almost as though they enjoy the instability of the region.
