Is it safe to say Amiibo are dead?

You may want to double check some of those statements, Nintendo just gave figures for them at the last quarterly report and they were up YOY.

I did. You're right they spoke about it, but they didn't note if it was up YOY or not. Feel free to check on that if you want. Here is what I found
