Microsoft during the Xbox 360 era invested heavily into video games - both first, second, and third party games. Now there is not really any effort.

Microsoft's future in games is clearly streaming and Windows.

I think MS and Sony invested more last gen. Now they place safe bets, less experiments, less studios, more remakes, etc. Cant blame them for focusing on genres that thrive.

MS has funded a bunch of games this gen, I'm not sure how you come to such an objectively wrong conclusion. The gen isnt over either, more will come. Granted MS had a fairly weak year given projects being delayed or cancelled. I'm confident better years are coming.
