Do they allow full locomotion? |
I assume they'll allow full locomotion in F4. They do on Vive

For the most part movement was smooth, with the left touchpad controlling direction and speed through double tapping. The game was a little jittery, but I’ll chalk that up to back-to-back demos with little time to fully recalibrate for each player.
Odd I guess Vive is in the same boat as move, no analog stick for movement? You get used to on/off movement yet it would be better with full analog control. You can sacrafice your left hand in Skyrim and hold the DS4 in one hand for analog movement. (or just use DS4 and no hands) Rift does have analog sticks right? As long as Bethesda doesn't pull the same stunt as with Doom VFR so it doesn't run on Rift. (fixed with a workaround, dunno if that adds analog movement) Actually I wonder why no developer has used the trigger on move yet for movement speed, just like racing, R2 for speed.
Anyway, yes it supports full locomotion. Serious Sam sounds fun. I was quite addicted to Cavernous wastes, a fast 6dof Descent like shooter. Quite a simple game yet due to procedural caves, random power ups and the difficulty ramping up quite nicely it kept me going.
I would like to try Talos principle in VR as well. However I already fully completed the game just before PSVR came out. Puzzle games are usually the least fun to play again. However Fract OSC and Anti Chamber would be amazing in VR. I prefer indoor / underground in VR, mostly due to the limitations to draw distance because of the resolution. Although Windlands worked fine with its long draw distances.
I never played Payday. Still have to play the london heist in vr worlds, too engrossed in Skyrim atm, 66 hours now. So much to see and do. Even if you don't normally like Bethesda RPGs, VR transforms it. When I played Skyrim at launch I was quite bored of it after 50 hours, forced myself to finish the main story and guild quest lines. Now I'm ready to go another 100, only halfway in the main game, DLC untouched still.
