Xenoblade 1 is infinitely simpler than this. See my previous post on how there are a million systems built into this game.

Yeah, I was surprised to read on the Internet about the "casualization" of the Xenoblade franchise lol. When this game is infinitely more complex and satisfying than the first one. I wouldn't say the game is not accessible, becauase it introduces mechanics little by little, but you really have to pay attention. What I think it's a misfire in this game is the lack of a "tutorial" menu, when you can check the tutorials you made before, in case you forgot about something. Something that can definitely happen because of the huge quantity of new info.

Their tutorial is badly done if you don't know the concept already. If you do, its super easy to follow. I imagine this is a hard line to toe for a developer. They know the in's and out's of the game so much that to dumb something down can be tough. You dumb it down too much and the game gets crapped on for a tedious long tutorial. You don't dumb it down and it gets crapped on for a shitty tutorial.

I feel in their tutorials, they skipped a step. Think of the Blade combo's. It starts the battle off and go "well give you the ability to do this attack now" and thus all you do is push A to activate it. It then goes, next your teammate needs to do this, we will give them this ability to do it now, and thus all you need to do is press LZ. You end up not knowing how you got to that point, you just end up pushing buttons. Thus why many have ended up not knowing it needed to be say lvl 2 or lvl 3 for many hours later. Just looking up at top right screen and seeing they need to do a water attack. And wondering why when they do the water attack it ain't working.
