Yes, i am sure he said nothing about Sony ceding Japan. You should read that post again, he says Nintendo dominates again and they made a smart decision by going with the Switch concept. He says zero things about Sony ceding Japan in that post and his follow up post said they ceded the handheld market, not Japan. |
There are two problems with your post.First, is that the Switch is a hybrid, not a handheld. So it works both as a home console and a handheld. If the Switch is selling better than the PS4, its because its also selling better as a home console.Thats why I brought up the whole conversation about what the Switch is.And thats why that the initial post of that user feels like he is moving the goalposts to make Sony look good.
And the second point is that the consumers dont buy a home console and a handheld. They buy a product. And since both the Switch and the PS4 are videogame related products, if a consumer buys the Switch instead of a PS4, the PS4 is losing the market. Its not like the PS4 were going to sell the same regardless of what Nintendo did.Competition is competition, no matter what your device do.
Thats why, the moments he says some nonsense like "Sony letting Nintendo have the handheld market", you know some goalposts are being shifted.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
