How many of them improve the graphics of games when they do this? How many of those tablets come with detachable controllers? How many of them feature local multiplayer on the go? And I'm not talking about games like chess where players take turns but stuff like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Snipperclips. How many of them are as quick and seamless as the Switch for gaming? How many of them have gyro controls and a motion sensor camera? How many of them have HD rumble? And if the Switch is just a tablet then why didn't tablet gaming take off long before the Switch arrived? |
Well, look it like this. MP3 players existed before iPod. Vectrex had an analog stick in 1982. The idea was there before but some companies execution of some ideas is what makes something work in a neat package everyone looks at and says I get it. Apple is known for taking existing ideas and putting them in a package that is streamlined. Nintendo isn't that different(tho they have introduced true innovations like the Dpad). Nintendo also has the advantage of their first party games always make great use of the hardware and controllers that again make people go..ah, I get it. If an idea alone what made a system a success then Game.Com would have had DS like success.
