#39 Castlevania: Circle of the Moon / GBA
The actual best Metroidvania from the series, mixing the great maze like exploration of the genre with the challenge and fast pace of the classic games makes for one intense adventure, with the usual style and memorable soundtrack with both old and new tracks, is quite great.
#38 Castlevania: Rondo of Blood / TG-16
The only reason I'm putting this game here is because of Maria, she is awesome, she has a stand and a bunch of animal friends, she can double jump, just 10/10 (on top of the great level design, multiple level routes and secrets, great visual and killer soundtrack).
