1) Those are units shipped, not sold. 3DS was quite overshipped at first. Not many bought it cause of the high price tag. So we cant really call this an accurate representation.

on the right, the chart shows a yoy increase over 2012. And 2012 shows a yoy increase over 2011

ill take  nintendo shipped number over vgchartz lol, and 3ds best holiday sales was 2011.
