how? ps3  lost market share to 360. 360 did what ps3 could do better with much better controller and cheaper price, what did 3ds lose marketshare too?

Sony made alot of boneheaded decisions with PS3 that caused people to game elsewhere, they fixed many of those problems with PS4 and were able to rebound.

Nintendo made alot of boneheaded decisions with 3DS that caused people to gsme elsewhere, they fixed many of those problems with Switch and sre going to rebound.

 

The hardware concept is much better, the marketing/advertising is much better, the software library is much better and thus it is seen as much more valuable.
