The 3DS didn't lose market share to anything; it ended up with more market share than the DS. But what's important is that it lost sales due to disinterest; the remedy for that is interest and Switch is a much more interesting system than the 3DS ever was. Therefore Switch will sell more units than the 3DS with ease. You can already see it now where Switch is keeping pace with the 3DS at a significantly higher price.
