Is there the slightest possibility that the reviewer honestly thought ARMS is a 9/10 game?

They aren't mainline games though, they're spinoffs, and terrible ones at that. There's a big difference between a game like Ultra Sun and Amiibo Festival.

Fact is, when it comes down to it, every big Nintendo release gets top marks from Nintendo Life, and it's mainly due to bias.
