Gamestop will also be selling the Pro for $349 starting on Thanksgiving.

I think it could be an issue for X1X. But I'm not really convinced that these upgraded units will increase the user base. They seem more fit to early adopters that have consoles since launch and would be at risk of getting bored. So they double dip. Probably after the gen ends, the base models will be showing too much their age and the price cuts will make the pro versions seem more attractive.

For now, I believe the big fight is X1S vs PS4 Slim. I'm not sure if Switch fights for sales with them or if it is appealing to an entirely different demography. Since PS4 sales haven't fallen from a cliff and those millions of Switch consumers have to come from somewhere, I guess the second scenario is most likely. I also wonder if we don't have a lot of double owners, PS4/X1 gamers also getting a Switch.

Well Sony have spooke that PS4P had a good mix of new customer and upgrades one, I believe it was like 40% upgrades. Don't have the source, would need to google it.

October is always a fight between xbone and ps4, but switch is a new console, that just recently has good stock, launching with a gigantic title, so in context it's not impressive, and you look at predictions threads, nobody expected sales this low.

XBO - 329k oct 2016

XBO: 303k oct 2015

Ya i got it, doing comparable numbers as PS4/XBO in Oct is bad.

How did he say it was bad when pointing out that Switch doing near PS4/X1 did in October? Switch have been doing better numbers than PS4 most NPDs this year, so it being ahead by not much is the definition of unimpressive, since it was EXPECTED.

The issue is that this is the best year of PS4 ever... so if he was comparing to PS4 first year this would make the difference more in favor of Switch.

PS4 is doing good numbers, but comparing to last gen we have PS4 and X1 doing good instead of only X360 doing great. But you are right, it will be kinda hard for PS4 to cross the 40M on USA alone. And if switch keep doing these good numbers on the gen end we may have PS4, X1 and Switch closer than any 3 consoles have ever been in USA.

That's the thing, it wasn't just the 360. Everyone was pulling in relatively big numbers. The PS3 managed 29m, the 360 49m, the Wii 45m, the DS 57m, and the PSP 21m. It was a crazy time, and shows that there is a lot of room between what consoles are doing right now in NA and what's been repeatedly shown as possible.

Well I'm considering only consoles and the fact that Wii sold to a market that isn't the same as PS/Xbox I would consider the sum of PS3+360 what PS4+X1 could get on USA this gen. And since both are very close it isn't hard to see something like 40M PS4 and 35M X1 and having a kinda flat gen.
