Yes consoles sells better during the holiday season. But its not because it launched in it. Its because its the HOLIDAY SEASON period.

LAST 8 weeks of the year

 

  • 2013 (PS4 Launch) = 4.2M 
  • 2015 (just a normal holiday period) = 8.06M
  • 2016 = ~8M
see the trend? And do you know why sony even had that many consoles to sell around the holidays? I'll give you a hint... its something that will be impossible to accomplish during the launch window. regardless of what time of the year you launch.

Fact that is they are selling better during holiday season in any case, and that also goes when consoles are launched during holiday season also, console thats launching during holiday season will sell better and much easier compared to same console would launch outside holiday season.

idk what nonsense about that, do you know the switch, out sold 360, wii, and ps2 during a none holiday period the first 2 months , its only because those systems didn't have stock. how can you sell better during the holidays when they can't even satisfy launch demand. LOL.
